40 Dime Late Night Bailout

Sacramento-Portland - Over/Under - 10:05 PM
I have lost my way over the past 2 days as Toronto got absolutely waxed last night by Detroit.

No loss of confidence at all as tonight I have a NBA total that I feel is going to cash in on the late-night card.

Last NBA action before the All-Star break and I have one last total for you to sink your teeth into.

I have hit 7 of my 10 hardwood totals to date and I will hit one here again tonight.

Bob Valentino's Rating System

ONE BEST BET a day, nothing more, nothing less.

No 4-team parlays or exotic teasers. No 7 games on a Saturday college card.

Just ONE rated release you can get down on.

My plays will be rated on a 10 Dime to 100 Dime scale.

Forget about "10 Dime" plays - you will NEVER find them. 10 to 100 gives you a proper scale so you know how strong a play is in the grand picture of life, understand?

Knowledge, discipline, self-control and money management. You might not have them, but after 20+ years I do and those are just a few of my keys to success.

So understand this:

   1)   I will not press.

   2)   I will not force a play.

   3)   I will not chase.

That ONE BEST BET will be available weekdays by 2:00 P.M. Eastern and weekends by 10:00 A.M. Eastern.

Who is Bob Valentino?

A little about me. Grew up outside of Chicago. Been married for 21 years. Have two beautiful children. And my wife will be the first to tell you I have three mistresses: Sports, Poker and Blackjack.

Hey, could have been worse, right?

I've never had a "real" 9-to-5 job, and I've always been my own boss. I'm financially secure and enjoy what I'm doing because I learned years ago to turn a blind eye toward the three demons that separate gamblers from their money: Greed, Ego and Immaturity.

The secret to my sports gambling success? It's my 3-part plan: One part opinion, one part money-management system and one part "who you know."

After 20 years in this business I will put my opinion up against anyone, but it sure helps that there is nobody I don't know or have access to. When the sharpest crews are using runners to get them down on hot games, I'm always ahead of the bookies on the information chain.

Understand this: I live in a world where "who you know" is just as important as what you know, but in the end, I always go with my strongest opinion and never let a "wise guy move" throw me off a winner.

I first debuted at this site back in April of 2008, following an introduction by Sean Michaels, a guy I've known for over 15 years. It was the first time I ever made my plays available to the public. I left in January of 2013, because of a personal family issue that made it impossible for me to devote the time to update a website 365 days a year. But now I'm back, refreshed and ready to roll.

What I always enjoyed about this site - and the reason why it was the only place I considered when returning as a full-time handicapper - is that it provided me with 100% freedom of speech with no censorship. I love the fact every handicapper at this site is an independent contractor and welcome the competition.

The only catch is I have to win to be successful, but that hasn't changed in the 20+ years I've been doing this for a living so let me continue to validate my opinion with my ability to make you - and myself - money.

Today's Complimentary Selection

On Tuesday night the Knicks were hammered at San Antonio by 26 points as they saw their first half of the season mark drop back to 18-18 for the year.

I am counting on New York heading to the break with a convincing home win and cover over a Detroit team they just blew-out, 109-90 to end the month of February in the Motor City.

The Pistons just played last night in Tampa against the Toronto Raptors as Detroit actually rocked the depleted Raptors to snap a 3 game losing streak, but the fact remains the Pistons have still lost 6 of their last 8 games. The points have not been of much help during their latest slide, as the Pistons are just 3-5 for the past 8 games I just mentioned.

Friday's win by New York over Detroit puts them on a 3-game series win and cover streak dating back to last season.

With the Knickerbockers standing at 7-4 against the spread this season when favored and Detroit at 8-11-1 when installed as an underdog of +1 to +7 points, willing to lay the chalk with the Knicks who are currently well positioned to make their first playoff appearance in quite some time if they can keep on winning as they have in their first year with Tom Thibodeau as the head coach.

Play the Knicks.
